Inspired by Dr Rudolf Steiner’s principles of anthroposophy, we seek to understand each person and situation as unique, not a one size fits all philosophy.  Mō te tūranga | About the Role Pōhutukawa Service is located in Barrington and is part of the Hōhepa community complex called Hapori, supporting four flatmates across two neighbouring homes. Mary is very independent and works fulltime. She regularly goes to the gym, plays Special Olympics basketball and is a big sports fan. Racquel is a very independent person who enjoys the freedom to come and go as she pleases. She is currently exploring opportunities to participate in regular activities and work towards personal goals. Racquel is deaf and has cochlear implants, which support her hearing, and she is also able to lip read effectively. Leonie attends Hōhepa's day programme most days. She is able to organise herself well, however, needs some support to maintain personal cares and keep a clean and tidy home. Cheryl attends Hōhepa's day programme most days. She needs more support with organisation, personal care, maintaining a clean and tidy home and social skills. You will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongside this person focussing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space.  Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people’s ability to access and be part of their wider community. If you are looking for a new challenge this could be the opportunity for you.  This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.95 and $30 per hour.
