Our 10 - 12 week summer programme gives you the opportunity to build your technical knowledge, develop key skills and learn more about life at bp. You'll be part of one team throughout your internship, supported by a dedicated line manager and buddy. There’ll be opportunities to connect with other interns, take part in training and grow your network across the business. Role and Responsibilities The summer internship programme is designed to give you maximum exposure to our supply, trading & shipping business. You will be working on projects with real impact to our business. You’ll be placed in a team with opportunities to showcase and enhance your skillset, follow your ambition and be part of the team’s success. Examples of previous projects include: • Carrying out research and analysis into a particular market or new jurisdiction and producing a strategy to help support trading decisions and growth. • Producing daily news/customer information reports to highlight market information and opportunities for trading and origination. • Analytics in support of our fundamental and demand supply view for short/medium term revenue activity. • Working to automate and optimise systems, reports, and analysis to speed up trading processes and decisions using various data science techniques. Over the course of the internship programme, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about our graduate programme through networking, training & information sessions before deciding on which graduate development track you would like to be considered for as our summer internship is a primary pipeline for our 2028 supply, trading and shipping graduate programme. Supply, trading & shipping development tracks include: Trading : Joining our energy trading team, you’ll be part of managing our trades on all the major energy commodity exchanges and the OTC market as well as our daily exposure. You’ll have the opportunity to experience different trading disciplines and styles from physical trading to paper trading. Analytics : Analysts have the opportunity to directly influence trading decisions as part of a highly commercial and skilled team. Working in the fast-paced environment of our trading floors and with access to vast amounts of data and information, you’ll focus on driving continued growth in trading profits and acting as a subject matter expert on energy market fundamentals. Commercial : Every year, bp invests billions of dollars searching for new sources of energy, supplying our customers with the fuels they need. You’ll help to ensure we make the best use of our investment. We want you to be in the best position to propose new and creative ways to maximize value. There are many commercial teams responsible for building and maintaining key relationships, developing unique solutions to address bp’s and our customer’s business needs and creating additional value for our trading business. About you You’ll have strong organizational skills and the ability to deliver results in a collaborative environment. Your agility to learn and adapt will be key along with the energy, motivation, and ownership to make the most of this fantastic opportunity. You’ll be comfortable making courageous and bold decisions, have digital fluency, a keen eye for analytics and the insights they provide. Even though good levels of numeracy are important, you won’t necessarily need a formal technical background. You’ll bring well-rounded life experience, and your strong academic results will be supported by some work experience, everything from customer service to industry experience is great! We know you’re early in your career – we don’t expect you to be an expert. To be eligible for the ST&S internship programme you are: • currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any discipline which could range from Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Arts to STEM • in your penultimate year of study, graduating between December 2027 and July 2028 • a Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident with the rights to work in Singapore Please note the following when applying: • You can only apply to 1 bp early careers opportunity globally per academic year – within this time, we will only process the first application you make, and you’ll be withdrawn from any subsequent applications. • Please note that vacancies are filled on an ongoing basis after opening and we may close applications before any stated deadline.
