If you need assistance with this or any other matter, please contact us at HR.StudentHiring@ etamu.edu Position Summary The Game Day Operations & Facilities Student Assistant supports the preparation, execution, and breakdown of athletic events and special events hosted by East Texas A&M Athletics. This position assists with facility setup, event operations, fan experience initiatives, and general game day logistics to ensure a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Game Day Operations • • Assist with the setup and breakdown of athletic venues before and after competitions. • • Prepare competition areas according to NCAA, conference, and institutional requirements. • • Set up tables, chairs, signage, barricades, hospitality areas, and other event-related equipment. • • Assist with game day staffing assignments and operational needs. • • Support crowd management and fan experience initiatives. • • Serve as an event attendant and provide customer service to fans, visiting teams, officials, and campus guests. • • Assist with parking, credential distribution, pass gate operations, and hospitality areas as assigned. • • Monitor facilities during events and report operational or safety concerns to supervisors. Facilities Support • • Assist with maintaining athletic facilities and event spaces. • • Support routine facility inspections before and after events. • • Help move, organize, store, and inventory athletic and event equipment. • • Assist with preparing locker rooms, meeting spaces, and competition venues. • • Support facility improvement projects and seasonal preparations. • • Ensure equipment and supplies are properly secured and stored following events. Championship & Special Event Support • • Assist with conference championships, tournaments, camps, clinics, and special events hosted by the athletic department. • • Help prepare hospitality areas and participant spaces. • • Assist with signage placement, venue branding, and event logistics. • • Support visiting team and official accommodations as assigned. Administrative Responsibilities • • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings. • • Maintain professionalism when interacting with student-athletes, coaches, officials, fans, and campus personnel. • • Follow university safety procedures and operational protocols. • • Complete assignments accurately and efficiently. • • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletics Operations staff. Qualifications • • Current East Texas A&M University student in good academic standing. • • Strong work ethic and attention to detail. • • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • • Strong customer service and communication skills. • • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours based on athletic event schedules. • • Dependable and punctual. Preferred Qualifications • • Interest in athletics administration, event management, facility management, sport management, or related fields. • • Previous experience with event operations, customer service, or facility support. • • Familiarity with collegiate athletics and game day operations. Physical Requirements • • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events. • • Ability to lift, carry, push, and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. • • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. • • Ability to perform physical labor associated with event setup and breakdown.
