Description
Position Summary
The Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC) is responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising evidence-based physical training programs to improve strength, power, speed, agility, endurance, and overall readiness of assigned personnel. The SCC works as part of a multidisciplinary performance team and ensures safe, effective, and mission-focused training. This position requires adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to conduct training in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strength and conditioning programs for individuals and groups.
• Conduct physical assessments, movement screenings, and performance evaluations.
• Demonstrate and instruct proper exercise techniques for strength, power, conditioning, speed, and agility.
• Monitor training loads, track progress, and adjust programming based on assessments and readiness indicators.
• Collaborate with athletic trainers, physical therapists, nutrition specialists, and other performance staff.
• Maintain a safe and organized training environment and ensure proper equipment usage.
• Educate personnel on proper lifting mechanics, recovery strategies, and injury-prevention techniques.
• Maintain documentation, training records, and reports in accordance with program standards.
• Support training indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, and cold.
• Have the ability to operate a computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, and Teams.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university.
Certifications
• NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
OR
• CSCCa Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
OR
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification.
Experience
• Minimum of three full years of relevant SCC work experience within the last five years.
Additional Requirements
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Must be able to conduct training in all types of weather conditions.
