We’re looking for a strategic and operational leader to help drive growth across Crunchyroll’s Global Commerce business. As Strategy & Operations Director, Global Commerce, you’ll serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Vice President of Global Commerce and Vice President of Strategy & Development, helping shape priorities, accelerate execution, and support decision-making across a diverse portfolio that includes consumer products, retail partnerships, licensing, apparel, home goods, theatrical, and emerging business opportunities.
This role sits at the center of the Global Commerce organization. You’ll help evaluate new opportunities, drive critical initiatives, improve organizational effectiveness, and ensure strategic priorities translate into measurable business outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong business judgment, commercial acumen, and analytical rigor with the ability to operate effectively across both strategy and execution.
Core Areas of Responsibility
Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic priorities across the Global Commerce organization
Evaluate business opportunities, growth initiatives, partnerships, and investments through quantitative and qualitative analysis
Conduct market, consumer, competitive, and industry research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Build business cases, strategic recommendations, and decision frameworks to support executive decision-making
Drive high-priority cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation
Develop operating mechanisms, project plans, milestones, and governance structures that improve organizational effectiveness
Coordinate stakeholders across multiple functions to drive alignment, accountability, and execution
Identify risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, and proactively develop solutions to maintain momentum
Develop executive presentations, briefing materials, communications, and strategic narratives for internal and external audiences
Translate complex business topics into clear, concise, and compelling recommendations and stories
Support leadership planning processes, business reviews, offsites, and organizational operating rhythms
Serve as a thought partner to leadership by helping structure ambiguous problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and refine strategic direction
Build analyses, models, and insights that inform commercial, operational, and organizational decisions
Support special projects and emerging priorities across the Global Commerce portfolio
We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our Dallas office
About You
12+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, consulting, corporate development, chief of staff, commercial strategy, or related functions, including experience within consumer products, retail, licensing, merchandising, entertainment, media, gaming, apparel, home goods, or comparable consumer-facing industries.
Experience supporting senior executives and operating effectively in highly visible, fast-paced environments
Strong understanding of retail partnerships, consumer products commercialization, category management, product development, licensing, distribution, or go-to-market strategy
Demonstrated ability to evaluate business opportunities, growth initiatives, and commercial strategies across physical products, retail channels, and p
