Description DEPARTMENT: New York City District Council of Carpenters Training Center REPORT TO: Assistant Director of Training FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Storefront & Curtain Wall Instructor to train and mentor journeymen in the proper installation, assembly, and understanding of commercial storefront and curtain wall systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience, the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, and a passion for teaching and developing skilled tradespeople. Job Responsibilities: · Instruct and train journeymen in storefront and curtain wall systems. · Teach proper installation techniques, sequencing, and best practices · Interpret and explain blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications · Demonstrate layout, fabrication, and assembly of storefront systems · Ensure all training follows safety standards and industry guidelines · Evaluate trainee progress and provide constructive feedback · Assist in developing training materials and lesson plans Requirements Qualifications & Experience: · Must be a member in Good Standing with The New York City District Council of Carpenters. · Proven experience with commercial storefront and curtain wall systems · Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings · Solid understanding of system components, glazing methods, and installation procedures · Prior teaching, training, or supervisory experience preferred · Strong communication and leadership skills · Patience and ability to work with varying skill levels · OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is a plus Skills & Abilities: · Strong verbal and written communication skills. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). · Ability to analyze reports and data relevant to instructional outcomes. · Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing tasks through to completion. · Able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
