In this role, you’ll oversee dishwashing operations, manage equipment and supply inventories, and maintain compliance with sanitation and safety regulations. Your leadership will keep kitchen operations running smoothly, supporting culinary and food & beverage teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Who You Are: Clear Communicator: You set expectations with confidence and foster a positive, collaborative work environment Empowering Leader: You delegate effectively, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive team success Operational Expert: You understand the cleaning, maintenance, and organization of kitchen equipment and dining areas inside and out Safety Advocate: You uphold health and food safety regulations, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards at all times Inventory Strategist: You manage supplies with precision, keeping kitchens stocked and organized for seamless operations Veterans and military spouses are encouraged to apply What You’ll Do: Lead and supervise the stewarding team, assigning tasks and ensuring all responsibilities are covered throughout each shift Monitor team performance, providing hands-on training, coaching, and feedback to maintain consistent service excellence Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and kitchen equipment, ensuring everything meets Loews’ high standards Ensure dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment operate efficiently, reporting malfunctions promptly for repair Coordinate the cleaning of kitchen areas, storage spaces, and back-of-house areas to maintain a spotless and organized environment Enforce proper safety procedures and hygiene protocols to prevent accidents and contamination Monitor compliance with health department regulations, including food safety and sanitation guidelines Assist with inventory management for cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring the department is well-stocked and organized Oversee safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety standards Collaborate with banquet, culinary, and outlet teams to ensure all necessary equipment such as trays, glassware, and cutlery is available and prepared for events Support event setup and breakdown, coordinating with banquet and culinary teams for seamless execution Manage the return and proper storage of equipment after events, ensuring accountability and organization Foster teamwork and maintain a positive work environment that encourages productivity and cooperation Step in to manage day-to-day floor operations in the absence of the Executive Steward or Assistant Executive Steward Attend Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings as needed and prepare setups according to established standards Regular attendance in conformance with standards May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings Perform other duties as assigned Your Qualifications Include: High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a mid-volume stewarding operation within an upscale hotel or restaurant preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting heavy items, standing for long periods, and operating cleaning equipment Who You’ll Supervise: Stewarding Department Headquartered in New York City, Loews Hotels & Co is rooted in deep heritage in the hotel industry and excellence in service.
