Description
Stainless Steel Fabricator
Location: Mooncoin, Co. Kilkenny
Full-Time | Permanent
Hartley People Recruitment is seeking a skilled Stainless-Steel Fabricator to join a specialist engineering workshop in Mooncoin. This role is suited to someone who takes real pride in producing high-precision, visually clean stainless-steel components used in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food production, automation, bespoke machinery, and engineered assemblies.
The successful candidate will work on custom-built products that demand accuracy, consistency, and excellent finishing standards. This environment focuses on tight tolerances, high-quality TIG work, and careful fabrication of components such as guards, frames, enclosures, precision assemblies, machine parts, and process-related fabrications.
Key Responsibilities
• Fabricate stainless-steel components to exact specifications using TIG welding and fine-tolerance assembly techniques.
• Interpret detailed drawings, models, and technical instructions to produce parts with consistent accuracy and high-quality finish.
• Carry out precision fitting, preparation, bending, cutting, and forming of stainless-steel materials.
• Produce clean, cosmetic welds suitable for high-end engineered products, ensuring structural and aesthetic quality.
• Assemble bespoke units, machine components, and equipment housings with strong attention to alignment, tolerances, and surface finish.
• Operate workshop machinery and tools relevant to stainless fabrication, including saws, presses, drills, grinders, and finishing equipment.
• Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to ensure components meet required standards before progressing to the next manufacturing stage.
• Maintain a safe, organised work area and follow all workshop safety procedures.
Requirements
• Proven experience in stainless-steel fabrication, ideally within a precisionengineering, pharmaceutical, food, or bespoke manufacturing environment.
• Strong TIG welding skills with the ability to produce clean, consistent, and visually high-quality welds.
• Ability to work to fine tolerances and follow complex fabrication drawings accurately.
• Comfortable with stainless-steel finishing processes such as polishing, grinding, and preparation for sanitary or aesthetic-grade finishes.
• Experience fabricating small assemblies, custom components, or one-off builds where detail and accuracy are critical.
• Confident using a wide range of fabrication tools and measurement equipment.
• A relevant trade qualification is an advantage but not essential if experience is strong.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and an eye for quality.
