Description
Agility’s commercially deployed humanoids operate alongside teams in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers—tackling physically demanding and repetitive tasks while enabling workers to focus on higher-value work. With industry-leading safety standards and years of proven deployment data, we're pioneering a new era of automation that enhances human potential. About the Role
The Staff Supplier Quality Engineer plays a critical role in enabling the scale and reliability of Agility Robotics’ hardware systems. This position owns supplier quality strategy across new product introduction (NPI) and production, ensuring that suppliers are capable, qualified, and continuously improving to meet the demands of high-performance robotic systems.
This is a highly cross-functional leadership role that partners closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to build scalable supplier quality systems, mitigate risk, and drive measurable improvements in product quality, yield, and field performance. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in manufacturing processes, supplier development, and quality systems, along with the ability to influence technical decisions and lead initiatives across the organization.
About the Work
Define and execute supplier quality strategy to support rapid scaling of robotic hardware production while maintaining high reliability and performance
Drive initiatives that enable rapid scaling of supplier quality operations without compromising product quality, reliability, or compliance
Lead supplier qualification and development, including audits, risk assessments, and capability evaluations to ensure a robust Approved Supplier List (ASL)
Drive end-to-end part qualification processes (FAI, PPAP) for new products, suppliers, and design changes, ensuring production readiness
Partner with Engineering early in the design phase to influence DFM/DFA decisions and ensure manufacturability and supplier readiness
Establish and scale supplier quality systems, standards, and processes that enable consistent execution across programs
Analyze supplier performance data to drive measurable improvements in quality, yield, and delivery through targeted corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Lead complex supplier escalations, including root cause analysis (RCA), 8D investigations, and implementation of sustainable corrective actions
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to mitigate risks, resolve quality issues, and improve end-to-end supply chain performance
Mentor and provide technical leadership to other SQEs and cross-functional partners
Key Qualifications and Skills
Deep expertise in manufacturing processes including die casting, stamping, forging, CNC machining, and injection molding, with strong understanding of process capability and controls
Experience with electromechanical systems such as actuators, gearboxes, precision assemblies, PCBA/EMS, and harnessing
Strong knowledge of quality systems and tools including PPAP, FAI, CAPA, 8D, FMEA, control plans, and SPC
Advanced proficiency in GD&T and its application in design, inspection, and supplier qualification
Demonstrated ability to assess and develop suppliers, including leading audits and driving performance improvements
Strong analytical skills with experience using tools such as Minitab, JMP, Excel, or similar for data-driven decision-making
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams
Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels in a fast-paced, scaling environment
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (25–50%)
