Otter.ai, a leading AI-powered meeting transcription and collaboration platform, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead frontend development and shape the web application's architecture. You will drive technical leadership on performance, infrastructure, and user experience while collaborating across the organization. What You'll Do • Lead development of the web application, designing and architecting it as a responsive, mobile-first single-page app • Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code that adheres to established code standards • Discover, diagnose, and fix bugs while validating functionality across browsers, platforms, and devices • Lead code reviews and participate in establishing code standards across the frontend team • Test and evaluate the application for security and performance vulnerabilities • Research and evaluate solutions to enhance overall user experience and application responsiveness What You Need • 8+ years of experience developing and architecting single-page web applications using a JavaScript framework • Expert-level proficiency in HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and JavaScript with ability to write clean, optimized, and reusable code • Exceptional capability building websites with mobile-first functionality • Deep experience writing unit, integration, and UI tests with strong debugging ability • Good familiarity with HTTP protocol • Proven track record staying current with latest development tools and platforms • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field Nice to Have • Master's degree in computer science or related field • Experience with WebSockets • Familiarity with Linux • Experience with AWS environment $210,000–$250,000 USD per year base salary, plus comprehensive total rewards package
