Description
Please note that all communications during our recruitment process must be conducted in English. Kindly send your resume in English. Staff Accountant Position Overview We are an accounting firm seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and bilingual Staff Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of 3 to 4 clients. This role requires someone who can take complete ownership of each client engagement — handling everything from daily bookkeeping and reconciliations through financial reporting and month-end close — with minimal supervision and consistent quality across each account. Our clients operate across different platforms and industries, so the ability to work fluently across QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, and similar accounting systems is important. Equally important is the ability to communicate professionally and clearly in both English and Spanish (If needed)— this is a firm requirement, not a preference. The workload per client will vary, and the number of clients assigned will be calibrated to ensure each account receives the attention and quality it deserves. The right candidate is organized, accountable, and takes genuine pride in delivering clean, accurate work for every client in their portfolio. Key Responsibilities Full-Cycle Accounting — Per Client You will own the complete accounting cycle for each assigned client — from transaction entry through financial reporting. • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping including transaction entry, categorization, and coding across all client accounts • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations for all accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable — processing invoices, payments, and collections follow-up as needed • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other period-end adjustments • Maintain the general ledger for each client, ensuring accuracy and completeness at all times • Lead the month-end and year-end close process for all assigned clients, meeting internal and client-facing deadlines Financial Reporting • Prepare monthly financial statements for each client including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports • Deliver reporting packages that are clear, accurate, and tailored to each client's needs and level of financial sophistication • Perform variance analysis and flag significant trends, anomalies, or concerns to the client or firm management proactively • Assist with budget preparation and forecast updates as needed for assigned clients • Support year-end reporting and preparation of supporting schedules for tax filings or external review Client Communication • Communicate directly with assigned clients in both English and Spanish (if needed)— conducting meetings, responding to inquiries, and delivering financial updates professionally in both languages • Gather documentation, clarify transactions, and provide financial explanations in a clear, client-friendly manner • Build and maintain strong working relationships with each client, serving as their trusted accounting point of contact • Respond to client inquiries promptly and ensure nothing in their portfolio goes unaddressed Multi-Platform Accounting • Work fluently across QuickBooks Online (QBO) and NetSuite as the primary accounting platforms • Adapt to additional client-specific platforms as the portfolio expands — proficiency with major accounting software is expected •
