Description The Staff Accountant will support various aspects of finance and accounting for the company. This position also requires general accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, intercompany transactions, and account reconciliations. Duties and responsibilities • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all monthly information including producing P&L’s for 10+ branch offices. • Review P&L’s with Branch Managers and address issues and/or concerns • Reconcile company bank accounts. • Reconcile Balance sheet line items and provide supporting schedules for reconciliations. • Ensure branch offices meet all HUD requirements by maintaining branch binder and scheduling impromptu visits. • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets. • Assist in annual financial audits. • Assist in quarterly reporting to regulatory agencies. • Oversee the accounts payable clerk coordinator and approve all disbursements. • Support the Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements. Requirements Qualifications • 5+ years experience in accounting • Strong PC Skills. Must be proficient in MS Windows, Excel, Outlook and Work. • Has knowledge of commonly used terminology, concepts and practices and procedures within the mortgage industry. • Ability to meet time deadlines while working under pressure. • Ability to effectively handle simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Able to effectively and efficiently work independently or as a member of a team. • Strong business writing and math skills. • Ability to effectively analyze loan account related problems and define and create solutions. • Oral and Written Communication Skills • Reading Skills • Math Aptitude • Budgeting • Organization, Planning, and Time Management Working conditions This job may require frequent sitting or standing for long periods of time.
