What you’ll do As Staff Accountant on Giga’s Finance team, you will be a core contributor to the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. You’ll own key parts of the general ledger, drive a clean and efficient monthly close, and support the reporting that informs decisions at the highest levels of the company. This isn’t a seat-warming role — you’ll be working alongside a lean, high-performing team where your output is visible and your growth is real. We’re building financial infrastructure to match the pace of the business, and you’ll be a central part of making that happen. Where you’ll work We are an in-office culture — velocity matters when you're building physical infrastructure, and the best decisions happen in the room. This role is based in our  Houston offices, with full-time onsite expectations outside of bi-weekly WFH Fridays. Responsibilities Own and maintain assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of journal entries on a monthly basis. Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process including preparation of accruals, prepaid amortization, and recurring journal entries. Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner. Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting packages. Maintain fixed asset schedules including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliation to the general ledger. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, including coding, approvals, and cash application. Assist with sales tax filings, 1099 preparation, and other compliance obligations. Provide supporting documentation and schedules for external audits and tax preparation. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation standards. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and FP&A to ensure accurate financial data. Requirements 2+ years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles. Hands-on experience with month-end close processes including journal entries and account reconciliations. Proficiency with an ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar). Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas). High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Bonus points   CPA license or active CPA candidate. Experience in a high-growth startup or manufacturing/industrial environment. Exposure to fixed asset accounting or project-based cost tracking. Familiarity with intercompany accounting or multi-entity consolidations. Experience supporting an external audit or working directly with auditors.
