ROLE OBJECTIVE
• Responsible for the concepting and development of Power system delivery solutions with primary application in data center power architecture but not limited to this space.
• Responsible to work with technical teams to lead the optimization of customer solutions by leveraging TE Power products (Busbar/Connector/Cable Assembly), design iterations, customer requirements, system and component simulations and verification test results.
• Responsible to drive the technical challenges to solutions for our connector, busbar and cable technology, Including collaborating and driving challenge scope and needed outcomes with our advance development teams.
• Responsible to collaborate and build on customer technical relationships to expand the design position of TE Power system solutions. This engagement will leverage TE IP, fast response & samples, iterations, testing and optimization of customer requirement parameters.
• Responsible to identify & mitigate safety component and system risks for Power solutions.
• Identify and contribute to technical papers, presentations and forums that will expand TE brand and technical confidence with recognized industry experts.
Job Requirements
• Build a deep understanding of market and customer needs in the Power data center architecture.
• Work closely with Customer/ FAE for clarity on VOC (voice of customer).
• Create concepts and engineering design proposals for customer platforms.
• Create detailed designs, analysis and simulation to assure performance of the design
• Train and mentor engineering team on DFMEA, Concept review, tolerance analysis, simulations etc.
• Execute on technical documentation to fully detail design drawings & requirements to engineering or product notifications and design history files.
• Strengthen and maintain a System level understanding of customer application and product design/concept necessary to provide a total power solution that meets customers’ expectations.
• Drive internal technical team on thermal and power integrity modeling and performance simulation. Provide recommendations to optimize design for component/ system performance.
• Advanced problem solving to drive effective resolutions for aligned key customers.
• Provide leadership and technical expertise in the development of New Products
• Responsible to lead solution delivery of to our technical roadmap with clear accountability and challenge management
• Collaborate with technical experts across TE and Industry to identify solutions and drive for readiness in product and process that will improve our competitive position.
• Execute technical peer reviews on new technologies and products to improve solution robustness, including mitigation of performance risks as tolerated by TE.
• Write and collaborate on technical white papers and standards specifications.
• Mentor others in areas of technical expertise to expand knowledge base & uplevel skills engineers
What your background should look like
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical is required, and Master’s is preferred
• Requires minimum of 12 years of relevant mechanical engineering or Electrical engineering work with electrical components, electrical devices, structure design, manufacturing tooling or process development or platform and systems level knowledge in the data center power architecture.
• Knowledge in Data Center (AI) or similar market Power distribution systems
• Experience in design and analysis of product power supply solution
• Knowledge in connector design, cable assembly design, busbar assembly design or other relevant mechanic design and development, including but not limited to, material selection, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, product qualification, etc.
• Expert in gathering customer system requirements and resolving into component level performance metrics through iterative interface and clarification with customer and ecosystem.
• Proficient in developing and writing design objectives for product specifications.
• Expert in 3D CAD applications (Creo preferred) with experience in 3D solid modeling, 2-D drawings, PDM link Data Manager and general knowledge in design applications such as Spaceclaim, Solidworks, or others for early concept stage.
• Expert in geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
• Expert at limit and fit analysis including statistical tolerance analysis.
• Proficient user of finite element analysis software (Ansys, Workbench)
• In depth knowledge in manufacturing process (machining, molding, stamping, plating, assembly, etc.) with experience driving Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and best practices.
• Experienced in providing technical leadership in the requirements definition and concepting of new products with a focus on establishing customer requirements to releasing qualified design.
• Solid understanding of competitive products and intellectual property positions.
• Expert problem solver – able to handle high complexity situations and use data analytics and critical thinking to reach logical conclusions with limited direction.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $187,100 – $280,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
