This role is a senior on-site technical leader responsible for deploying, managing, and maintaining Proxmox-based virtualization infrastructure and Kubernetes control planes within a secure, classified environment.
What You'll Do
• Maintain, update, and optimize on-site Proxmox VE hypervisor environments, Ceph distributed storage clusters, and underlying server hardware
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware failures, kernel panics, network partitions, virtualization bottlenecks, Kubernetes issues, and node pressure conditions in isolated classified spaces
• Deploy automated system updates, patch air-gapped systems, and integrate new physical compute or storage nodes into the local cluster environment
• Serve as the primary technical representative for the program, managing interactions with site stakeholders, mission owners, and local administrators
• Conduct technical training, operational walkthroughs, and compliance briefings for customer personnel; enforce security benchmarks and support configuration control reviews
What You Need
• Active Top Secret / SCI clearance
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise Linux environments and bare-metal hardware infrastructure in secure environments
• Strong, demonstrable experience configuring and troubleshooting Proxmox VE, KVM, QEMU, or equivalent enterprise virtualization technologies
• Practical experience with Ceph storage orchestration, software-defined networking, VLAN tagging, and low-level Linux network troubleshooting
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills with proven track record managing technical relationships with government or military personnel
Nice to Have
• Hands-on experience managing incident response lifecycles and resolving critical control-plane or etcd failures in live, high-scale production systems
• Advanced capability in utilizing telemetry, API server audit logs, distributed tracing, and metrics to perform root-cause analysis in production environments
• Experience with Kubernetes deployment and management in classified or air-gapped environments
• Crossplane and Cluster API (CAPI) experience
