Sr. Maintenance Technician in Paint Shop is responsible for leading and coordinating electrical, mechanical, and automation maintenance technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all paint shop equipment and systems. The role provides technical leadership across pre-treatment, E-coat, primer, basecoat, clearcoat, ovens, conveyors, inspection systems, utilities, and ASRS, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. The Team Leader plays a key role in breakdown management, preventive maintenance execution, team development, and continuous improvement, acting as the first technical escalation point between technicians, engineering, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, assign, and supervise electrical, mechanical, and automation technicians across shifts.
Ensure maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and as per priority.
Coach and mentor technicians to improve technical capability and problem-solving skills.
Manage shift handovers, workload balancing, and on-call response.
Coordinate preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities across all paint shop assets.
Act as first escalation point during major breakdowns and ensure fast, structured recovery.
Ensure effective coordination between mechanical, electrical, and automation disciplines.
Support commissioning, upgrades, and modifications of paint shop equipment.
Provide hands-on technical support for complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.
Guide root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure robust corrective and preventive actions.
Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled systems, robots, ovens, conveyors, utilities, and safety systems.
Verify system stability and process readiness before equipment handover to production.
Enforce strict compliance with LOTO, PPE, electrical safety, machine safety, and hazardous-area requirements.
Ensure maintenance activities meet OEM standards, plant EHS rules, and regulatory obligations.
Support audits related to ISO/QMS internal EHS, and customer requirements.
Ensure preventive maintenance plans are executed with high compliance.
Monitor breakdown trends, MTBF, MTTR, and downtime KPIs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, availability, and maintainability.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, shift reports, and escalation logs.
Coordinate with Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and Facilities teams.
Support production planning discussions and maintenance prioritization.
