Title: Specialist, Post-Award Grants Position Type: Fulltime Staff Search Type: External - minimum 7 days Department: 39R000 - Graduate Education & Research Admin Division: 2R0000 - Academic Affairs Position Location: Richmond Campus Driver Classification: Non-Driver FLSA: Exempt Schedule Type: Full Time (37.5 hrs per week or more) Hours Per Week: Additional Schedule Details: Posted Salary Grade: Exempt - G20 Retirement: KTRS Contact Person: Anne Cizmar Job Summary/Basic Functions The Post-Award Specialist is responsible for contract negotiation for sponsored projects and post award administrative tasks including budget development support, communicating pre- and post-award compliance concerns, processing award modifications and prior approval requests, providing post-award training and technical assistance to project directors, and completing special projects as assigned to meet the needs of the University and the Sponsored Programs and Research Administration office. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree required Experience: Two years of experience with budgeting, grant compliance, or related duties Licensure & Certifications: Preferred Qualifications: Job Duties: • 25% - Develops resources and provides post-award technical assistance to project directors and administrative personnel, including through new award orientation meetings. - (Essential) • 25% - Processes subawards, award modifications, and prior approval requests, including scope revisions, budget revisions, and no-cost extensions; functions as a liaison with external funding agencies for post-award issues. - (Essential) • 20% - Reviews external award documents to refine the budget, deliverables, and recommend if the contract necessitates EKU Legal Counsel review before the award documents are signed. - (Essential) • 15% - Performs general reviews of spending on active grant awards with an emphasis on appropriate allocation of personnel effort and spending trends; communicates compliance concerns for action. - (Essential) • 10% - Assists with special projects and initiatives aimed at growing sponsored project funding and improving support for managing awards. - (Essential) • 5% - Supports office functions by completing all other duties as assigned. - (Essential) Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
