Why this role matters The Salvation Army   (Salvos)   provides   a wide range of services t hat   support women and women with children   impacted   by family and domestic violence. We offer   accommodation , counselling, support,   behavioural   programs, and advice to women and children   at risk of ,   experiencing or   escaping   family violence.   Our services focus on prevention,   restoration,   and healing to provide   specialised   support to   address immediate safety issues and provide advice,   referrals,   and   connection   to   assist   the recovery journey. About the role We are seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner for The Orange Door Program. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality support to victim survivors of family violence, families requiring child wellbeing support, and men who use violence. Through the Screening, Identification and Triage (SIT) function, you will assess risk, identify client needs, and connect individuals and families to the services and supports that promote safety, accountability, and positive outcomes. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent full-time position, based on-site in Morwell, VIC. Conditions Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Levels 5-6 (dependant on qualifications and experience). How you will make an impact • Deliver screening, triage, risk assessment, crisis response, service planning, and coordinated referrals to support individuals and families in line with Orange Door practice frameworks and service guidelines • Assess and prioritise the risks, needs, and safety concerns of victim survivors, children, families, and perpetrators, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team • Facilitate access to appropriate supports through referrals, service allocations, brokerage applications, and Central Information Point (CIP) requests where required • Provide interim case support as a lead practitioner or support worker, ensuring client-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally safe service delivery • Maintain accurate client records within the Orange Door CRM system and actively participate in ongoing training, development, and continuous improvement activities What you will bring • Must hold or be ‘working towards’ an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 7 or above qualification in   family violence or a related discipline . AQF Level 7 qualifications include Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates, and Master Degrees. • Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Recommendation 209) • Experience working in the family violence sector is desirable • Demonstrated knowledge of the physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioural impact of trauma and abuse • Knowledge of Family and Domestic Violence including context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulations, and legislation • A current Victorian Driver's Licence • A current Employee Working with Children Check What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: • Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment   benefit • Generous   Paid Parental   l eave   for   p rimary   (12 weeks)   & secondary carers ,   P urchased   L eave   S cheme   (up to 8 weeks)   and   5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities • Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives   incl   Fitness Passport • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander supports such as: Burra   Burra   Network (pastoral care network), Cultural Events, Sorry Business and Ceremonial Leave (up to 10 days) • O ngoing training and development o pportunities   that   enhance   on the job   skills and   proficiency • Rewarding and fulfilling   purpose driven   careers   that have positive and sustainable   /   social impacts How to apply I f   you’re   passionate about making a difference and ready to join a team dedicated to creating positive change, please   submit   your resume and cover letter detailing your alignment with the requirements of the role .   Together we can build a brighter future.
