Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our multidisciplinary team, providing individualized education to hospitalized students. This role plays a vital part in supporting students' academic, emotional, and developmental growth during treatment, with instruction tailored to their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the classroom environment, including teacher assistants and students
• Develop and implement flexible, individualized lesson plans that support academic and personal growth
• Collaborate with clinical, medical, and nursing teams to align education with treatment goals
• Provide small group and one-on-one instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress in alignment with IEP goals and hospital policies
• Support students through transitions and discharge planning, maintaining communication with families and home schools
• Foster a positive, structured learning environment that supports behavior management and engagement
• Maintain accurate academic and behavioral records as required

Requirements
• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Education
• Certification : Valid Montana teaching certificate
• Endorsement : Special Education minor/endorsement required
• Experience : Demonstrated experience working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges
