Description
Humly North West are recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Spanish Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Carlisle from September 2026.
This is a part-time Spanish teaching role working every Tuesday and Thursday from 1 September 2026 until 17 December 2026, covering the full Autumn Term, with strong potential for the booking to continue beyond this date.
You will be teaching mainly Key Stage 3 Spanish classes, with the possibility of delivering a Key Stage 4 lesson where required. The school has resources available to support planning, but the role will include full planning and marking responsibilities across your teaching days.
This role would suit a qualified Secondary Spanish Teacher, MFL Teacher or QTS teacher with strong Spanish subject knowledge who is looking for a regular part-time teaching role in Carlisle.

What You’ll Be Doing
As the Secondary Spanish Teacher, you will work as part of the school’s MFL department and take responsibility for Spanish lessons across your two teaching days each week.
Your role will include:
• Teaching Spanish to mainly Key Stage 3 pupils
• Potentially delivering a Key Stage 4 Spanish lesson where required
• Planning and preparing lessons using available school resources
• Marking work and providing feedback in line with school expectations
• Supporting pupil progress, engagement and confidence in Spanish
• Maintaining clear classroom routines and expectations
• Managing behaviour positively and consistently
• Adapting lessons to support different abilities
• Working with the MFL department and wider school team
• Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and curriculum expectations
• Providing a reliable and consistent teaching presence every Tuesday and Thursday
The school needs someone who can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff, contribute to the MFL department and deliver engaging Spanish lessons across the Autumn Term.
You’ll Be a Good Fit If You...
• Hold QTS
• Have experience teaching Spanish in a UK secondary school
