Sous Chef Location: Radlett, Hertfordshire Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Reporting to: Head Chef Hours: 35–40 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays as required Salary: £27,300 – £31,200 per annum About the Opportunity Enhance Catering is currently recruiting for a Sous Chef on behalf of one of our client organisations based in Radlett. This is an exciting opportunity to join a kitchen entering a new phase, with a strong focus on seasonal menus, quality produce, and delivering a relaxed yet refined dining experience. The kitchen is evolving under new leadership, with a clear vision to build a motivated and ambitious brigade. The Role As Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role within the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in overseeing day-to-day operations and leading the team during service and in their absence. This role would suit an experienced Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to take the next step in their career within a progressive and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities • Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations • Leading the brigade during service and in the Head Chef’s absence • Maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation • Assisting with menu development, costing, and GP management • Training and mentoring junior chefs • Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance • Supporting stock control, ordering, and waste reduction What We’re Looking For • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up • Strong organisational and leadership skills • Passion for seasonal, ingredient-led cooking • Calm, professional approach under pressure • Positive, team-focused attitude What’s On Offer • Competitive salary of £27,300 – £31,200 per annum • 35–40 hours per week with a healthy work-life balance • Predominantly daytime-led service with occasional events • Opportunity to influence menu direction and kitchen development • Supportive, hands-on leadership • Career progression opportunities within a growing operation If you are interested and would like to hear more then please apply today with your updated cv and we will be in touch.
