Description
We are currently looking for a Software Engineer to join the team in the Leiden Area . We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a team developing advanced software applications that support operational decision-making in mission-critical maritime environments. You will contribute to the development of innovative applications used to monitor incidents, guide operators through complex procedures, and support damage control and emergency response. Working in an Agile environment, you'll help build new functionality, develop entirely new applications, and contribute to the evolution of a modern, event-driven software architecture based on C#, .NET, and contemporary frontend technologies. Job details Software Engineer C#/.NET Main responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain software applications that support operational processes and decision-making in complex technical environments. • Develop new functionality for existing desktop, web, and mobile applications. • Integrate new software solutions into an existing ecosystem of applications and services. • Contribute to the migration toward a modern software architecture using C#, .NET, HTML5, TypeScript, and React. • Develop new applications for next-generation mission-critical systems. • Design and implement event-driven and distributed software architectures. • Continuously identify opportunities to improve software quality, development workflows, and deployment processes. • Collaborate with customers and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical input. • Demonstrate new functionality during technical reviews and stakeholder presentations. • Create and maintain technical documentation, including Software Requirement Specifications (SRS). • Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests to ensure software reliability and quality. Requirements • Bachelor's degree (HBO) or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline. • At least 4 years of professional experience developing applications with C# and .NET (e.g. .NET 8 and ASP.NET Core) in an Agile environment. • Experience with event-driven architectures, RPC, and distributed systems. • Experience with Git, Microsoft Visual Studio, Docker, PowerShell scripting, and Azure DevOps (including CI/CD pipelines). • Experience with Windows and Linux development environments. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to developing robust software solutions. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. • Excellent command of both Dutch and English. • Willingness to undergo a background screening and security clearance process. Nice-to-haves • Experience with Kubernetes. • Knowledge of DDS, WPF, or MEF. • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and SQL Server. • Experience developing software for high-reliability or mission-critical systems.
