Interim Social Worker – Children & Families Service Location: Hackney Directorate: Children and Education Service: Children and Families Grade: PO1–PO3 (£33 per hour) Contract: Interim (Possible Ongoing) Pay: Competitive rates via Austin Dean Recruitment A bout the Role Austin Dean Recruitment is proud to partner with Hackney Council to recruit experienced and passionate Social Workers for the Children and Families Service . The role focuses on assessment, planning, intervention, safeguarding, and partnership working within a strengths-based, relationship-focused framework. Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, you’ll receive structured support, supervision, and professional development to help you thrive. Key Responsibilities • Deliver timely and effective social work interventions to safeguard children and support families. • Conduct holistic assessments to identify needs, risks, and protective factors. • Develop and implement child-centred care and protection plans. • Work in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes. • Maintain accurate, high-quality records in line with statutory and local performance requirements. • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and diversity frameworks. Requirements • Recognised Social Work qualification . • Social Work England registration (mandatory). • Experience in Children’s Social Care, preferably within statutory settings. • Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 , Working Together to Safeguard Children , and London Child Protection Procedures . • Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills. • Enhanced DBS required.
