What You'll Do
We’re seeking a Social Media and Content Ops Director to help lead the strategy, innovation, and global growth of Fortnite’s social media ecosystem. This leader will play a critical role in defining Fortnite’s social vision across games and brands, driving engagement, community connection, and creative excellence. You will be a key contributor to a multidisciplinary team spanning strategy, creative, content, community, and analytics—guiding how Fortnite shows up across every major platform. You’ll partner closely with Marketing, Communications, Community Development, Creative/Brand, Product Management, eSports, Creative Development, and Game Development teams to ensure our social storytelling reflects the spirit of Epic and resonates with audiences around the world.
In this role, you will
Partner with executive leadership to translate company priorities into breakthrough social storytelling and audience engagement strategies
Drive innovation in content formats and platform strategies, championing a culture of experimentation that empowers teams to explore new approaches to creator partnerships, live content, and community interaction—ensuring Fortnite’s presence stays ahead of evolving trends and emerging technologies
Have a strong operational focus with peers in Marketing and Publishing Production to drive authentic appointment setting around key Fortnite beats
Integrate data and insights into creative decision-making to ensure storytelling and engagement efforts are both impactful and measurable, while proactively tracking and evaluating outcomes
Collaborate cross-functionally with paid media, influencer, and communications teams to orchestrate cohesive campaign ecosystems and to guide platform relationships with key partners (e.g., TikTok, YouTube, Meta, X, Reddit, Twitch) to drive innovation and co-marketing opportunities
Advocating for audience-first thinking and authentic brand connection, and oversee governance, tone, and consistency of Fortnite’s brand voice across all game modes and global regions
Aggressively analyze metrics on social content performance, with quick iteration and feedback cycles to inform how to improve subsequent campaigns
What we're looking for
7-10+ years of experience in social media and/or digital content, with at least 3-5 years managing large-scale global programs
Background in the Gaming industry (especially in Live Service Games) or adjacent Tech/Entertainment industry
Proven track record building and executing global social strategies for major entertainment, gaming, or consumer brands
Deep understanding of platform ecosystems, audience behavior, and emerging media formats
Experience mentoring high-performing teams across creative, strategy, and analytics functions
Strong creative instincts paired with data-driven judgment—you inspire bold ideas and know how to measure their impact
Experience collaborating at the executive level, influencing company-wide marketing and communications priorities
