Job Summary :   Alpine Teams Head Coach is   for the   oversight and general   success of the   U System and Development Teams based at Alpine   (the   “Alpine Teams” at Alpine location base).   This list is designed to   a ssist   in delimiting job   duties and   is not exhaustive.    O ther duties may be assigned or arise in the course of work.     T hese duties are NOT listed in order of priority.   The Head Coach contributes to the overall success of Team Palisades Tahoe   and Team Palisades Tahoe Alpine   consistent   with the   Team   Mission and Vision as measured by the quality of the athlete and employee experience, retention, athlete success, and parent satisfaction. This position works directly with   the Alpine Teams Administrator, Palisades U System Sr Manager, Palisades Tahoe Director of Teams, and has direct supervisory oversight of Alpine U System staff U12-U18, and the Alpine Development Head Coach. Applicants must be   21   years of age. Hourly: The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Base hourly pay range: $25.71 - $35.99 per hour A Great Job and Benefits to Match: • Free skiing + riding privileges to 16 iconic resorts including Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, Steamboat, Solitude and more! • Healthcare options for both Seasonal & Year-Round employees • Generous discounts on outdoor gear, apparel, etc. • 401(k) plan with generous company match • Free lift tickets, plus 50% off lift tickets • 25%-50% discount at Food & Beverage locations at Palisades & Alpine • 30% discount at Palisades Tahoe operated retail stores, including The North Face, Patagonia, Oakley, and more! • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned: • Manage U12 through U18 alpine race programming at Alpine including   coaching staff .    Coordinate,   design   and oversee all activities involved in the training, and competition of team athletes.   Manage/Supervise Development Head Coach. • Maintain communication with   coaches,   administrators, parents   and athletes, and leadership through effective and approved channels . • Leads Safety efforts with compelling messaging and action, modeling and   establishing   high expectations   for safe behaviors with the intent to   eliminate   injuries for Staff and Self. • Coordination of Hill Space with U System Sr Manager, Alpine Mountain Manager, Grooming,   Patrol   and other key players at Palisades Tahoe • Ensure all staff are appropriately scheduled, and schedule   maintained   throughout   season   on a monthly,   weekly   or daily   basis   as necessary. • Ensure time and attendance expectations are adhered to by all staff. • Coordination of travel with Alpine Administrator and broader administrative team. • Create   and contribute to   written team goals and   facilitate   individual goal   setting   for all team   athletes and coaches . Facilitate goal setting and performance assessments for coaches. • Be fully aware of and support the mission,   vision   and goals of all aspects of our program, Palisades Tahoe resort, and Alterra. • Organize and   ensure   appropriate training   plans are published   for   entire   year . • Guide and promote athletic participation in training plan;   participate   in planned training • Foster an atmosphere of respect and courtesy between coaches, parents, athletes, TPT and Alterra employees, and the public; ensure that we   maintain   a strong emphasis on the customer service aspect of our program. • Maintaining communication with administrators, parents, and students through meetings, reports, and other vehicles on a regular basis • Modeling   appropriate   and ethical behavior consistent with program values and code of conduct. • Participate in the recruitment,   hiring   and   training of   coaches. • Participating in   professional   development program and   maintain   outside   certifications   as necessary. • Accountable for and adherence to financial goals including labor expense/Time & Attendance, equipment & supplies, travel   cost   and related athlete billing, etc. • Establish and   facilitate   weekly and monthly   staff meetings   depending upon seasonality . • Assist   in the management of, and hold coaches (and self) accountable to: Time & Attendance Standards, Team and company mission/vision/values and policies, Performance management/performance reviews, Team expectations for athletic advancement, Use of company approved tools, Participation in all required meetings and   trainings Job Qualifications Required: • High School diploma • US Ski & Snowboard Alpine Level   100 • Supervisory experience (+3 years preferred) • Sufficient skills with Microsoft O 365 and fluent in technological tools supporting sports/team communication • Fluent in reading,   writing   and communicating in English Preferred: • US Ski & Snowboard Alpine Level 300 or equivalent • PSIA Certification Physical Requirements : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting,   pushing   or pulling up to 75bs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth   perceptions   and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions: Indoor/Outdoor:   While performing the duties of this job, the employee will   frequently   be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may   encounter   extreme winter cold and blizzard conditions.
