Job description GRA Design Studio is a mid-size architecture & engineer firm working across residential, retail (including well-known franchises and quick serve restaurants), and commercial environments. As a growing studio with multiple active project teams, we are seeking a highly mobile, detail-driven architectural professional to serve as the   first point of contact for projects in the field   and a key connector between clients, consultants, and our design studios. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out in the world rather than behind a desk, thrives on variety, and wants direct exposure to projects from their earliest stages. You will have the opportunity to   travel frequently, represent the firm on-site, and touch projects across all studios , helping shape the foundation of design work from day one. You are often the first GRA team member a client sees on a project. In that sense, you are not just collecting data, but setting the tone for how a project begins. What Makes This Role Unique • Licensed in over 40 states, this role will grant the opportunity to explore the country while traveling for work, all expenses paid (flights, ability to collect airline points, hotels, car rentals, and up to $75 of food per day) • High level of  field autonomy and travel • Exposure to   diverse project typologies spanning commercial and residential spaces • Direct interaction with clients, brokers, and site stakeholders during the earliest stage of the project • Hands-on use of advanced scanning Lidar technology • Opportunity to obtain Part 107 Drone Operator license funded by the company • A visible role as a  representative of the firm in the field Key Responsibilities • Frequent travel via personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursement), rentals, and flights • Serve as first field contact for new project site visits and surveys • Communicate with clients, brokers, and landlords to coordinate scheduling and access • Book and manage travel logistics and maintain accurate trip records • Conduct on-site surveys to gather architectural and MEP data through the use of Matterport, Faro Scanners, and drone equipment • Document existing conditions through field notes, sketches, and measurements • Capture, organize, and process field data for studio integration • Collaborate with studio teams across multiple projects and disciplines • Prepare clear, detailed field reports and daily project updates • Process pointcloud into technical drawings using Revit • Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed Qualifications • Experience with or exposure to surveying techniques and field documentation • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Comfortable acting as a client-facing representative of the firm • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive for extended periods • Ability to travel frequently and be away from home when projects require • Physically capable of fieldwork including walking, climbing, and standing for long durations in varying site conditions • Strong organizational skills and sound judgment in the field • Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn specialized survey tools • Working knowledge of Revit/CAD preferred • Architectural or design background preferred but not required Benefits: • Health, dental, & vision insurance • Paid time off & Holidays • Career growth opportunities & professional development assistance (Amber Books subscription, additional PTO for ARE prep & testing) • Retirement plan (401K with employer contribution) • Collaborative team dynamic • Extracurricular activities (sports clubs, bowling leagues, etc) & company events • Wellness activities and benefit offerings • Flex scheduling • Hybrid/Remote work environment • Paid travel/mileage reimbursement • Opportunity to learn new software(s) Compensation package: • Bonus opportunities Schedule: • Monday to Friday Education: • Bachelors in Architecture   (Preferred) Experience: • Site Survey experience Work Location:   In person/Remote/Travel
