We support shipowners, shipyards, engineering companies and marine contractors worldwide by providing highly qualified technical personnel for complex projects. As part of the preparation of a major newbuilding programme for one of our clients, d2m services is currently seeking experienced professionals for the position of Site Manager . The successful candidate will join the owner's supervision team for the construction of a next-generation RoRo vessel to be built at a major Asian shipyard. Project mobilisation is currently planned for 2027. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Owner's Project Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for: Acting as the Owner's representative on site throughout the construction programme. Coordinating the owner's supervision team. Managing the day-to-day relationship with the shipyard. Monitoring construction progress, quality and schedule. Coordinating technical meetings and resolving construction issues. Monitoring non-conformities and corrective actions. Preparing regular progress reports for the Owner's project team. Supporting harbour trials, sea trials and final vessel delivery. Requirements Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or equivalent. Significant experience supervising newbuilding projects. Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams on shipyard projects. Good knowledge of Classification Society requirements. Fluent English is essential. Previous experience working in Asian shipyards would be an advantage. Benefits Location: Shipyard China Estimated mobilisation: second half of 2027 Estimated project duration: approximately 18 months PROJECT OVERVIEW : The project involves the construction of a modern RoRo cargo vessel designed to operate with a reduced environmental footprint. The vessel will feature hybrid diesel-electric propulsion, advanced power management systems and the latest safety technologies, meeting current international standards for operational efficiency, reliability and environmental performance. The supervision team will oversee the complete construction process, from steel cutting through harbour and sea trials to final delivery.
