What you’ll be doing
We are looking for a Site and Waste Assistant who will provide effective and efficient support in site and waste management, focusing on the removal of rubbish, waste and fly tipping.
• Responsible for removing general litter and waste from CHP communal buildings and grounds throughout our stock, reducing skip costs and improving the living conditions for our customers.
• Respond to incidents of fly tipping, unauthorised bulk waste and bin store misuse, removing items appropriately and safely to assist with the good housekeeping on our estates maintaining high standards for our customers.
• Ensure all communal refuse areas and stores are maintained to a standard acceptable for local authority collection (sheltered and general needs)
• Undertake aspects of grounds maintenance and general horticultural work at Myriad House as per summer/winter schedule as required.
• Assist in production of green waste composting and recycling of waste produced by Grounds Maintenance team to achieve significant reduction and reuse.
What we’re looking for
• Evidence of attainment of good literacy and numeracy, e.g. through GCSEs or equivalent, or equivalent demonstrable prior learning.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good working knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work pro-actively as part of a team to achieve objectives and manage conflicting priorities and workload within agreed timescales.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage with all levels of the organisation and build up good working relationships with external stakeholders.

• The salary for this post will be £25,200 Per Annum

• 25 days annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays and 3 extra days between Christmas and New Year.
• 37 hours per week – employees may be able to work flexibly by agreement with their line manager, taking account of business need. We operate a hybrid working policy at CHP.
