Description Full time 40 hours (over 7 Days), Weekend working required £27,256.08 pa We have a great opportunity for a commercially minded and community focused individual who will lead a diverse team of people, taking a pro-active approach in the day-to-day operations within the Retail Shops at Rowans Hospice. The Shop Manager position incorporates a training programme which will support learning the function and responsibilities involved in managing one of the Charity’s retail shops. You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard in all administration, financial management and cash handling, security procedures and housekeeping tasks, taking the initiative to work with the wider retail team to share best practice and develop sales and the retail operation. A successful candidate will have proven retail and customer service experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a flexible innovative attitude. As well as ensuring an outstanding customer experience, the candidate will need to maintain excellent merchandising standards by continually reviewing product placement and layout in order to maximise sales opportunities. The successful candidate will be required to line manage a dedicated team of staff and volunteers and will therefore need excellent leadership skills to coach the team to develop and maintain a sustainable income stream for the Charity. They will be involved in recruiting, developing and retaining staff and volunteers, ensuring that they meet their personal aspirations.
