Department:   Shipping Reports To:   Shipping Supervisor FLSA Status:   Non-Exempt Location:   Acorn Facility Work Arrangement:   On-site Shift / Schedule:   3 rd   shift Travel Requirements:   N A Employment Type:   Full-time Role Overview / Purpose and Scope The Shipping Lead is primarily responsible for supporting the Shipping Supervisor in ensuring department procedures are followed while achieving the highest level of productivity in the most cost-efficient manner possible and maintaining customer specifications. This role helps direct and lead team members, supports compliance with food safety programs and Farmer Focus policies, and assists with team member performance, development, safety, and daily work schedules . Key Responsibilities • Assist the Supervisor with getting the Shipping Department started daily and on time. • Fill in as needed at any position to ensure a consistent product flow. • Assist the Supervisor with production paperwork as needed. • Respond to USDA inspectors and their concerns in a timely and correct manner. • Help train new team members and monitor their performance. • Perform production checks to ensure the department is performing to standards. • Assist other supervisors and managers with issues in other departments in the plant. • Maintain compliance with food safety programs, safety expectations, and Farmer Focus policies. • Perform other job duties as needed. Qualifications • Excellent attendance is   required . • Basic math and reading skills are required. • Ability to complete paperwork accurately as needed. • Proven performance, dependability, and a positive attitude. • Ability to train team members, monitor performance, and support department standards. • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation. New team members must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel This role is performed on-site in a production and shipping environment. The position requires working on the plant floor, following all safety, food safety, and PPE requirements, and supporting production flow in a fast-paced setting. Team members must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, work in varying temperatures and noise levels, and occasionally lift up to 70 pounds. Schedule flexibility may be required based on production and shipping needs . This position does not have an application deadline. Farmer Focus will recruit until the role   is   filled.
