Responsible to: Homes Manager / Supported Pathways Manager Main purpose of role: The key responsibilities will be to assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in the management and development of the homes and staff to drive the delivery of an excellent quality service. The role may be required to support more than one service depending on business needs. You will be accountable to the Registered Manager and the deputy manager. To effectively and efficiently deliver the main responsibilities and key result areas encompassed within a Senior Team Leader role. To meet the below requirements within a residential setting catering for young people Main Duties and Responsibilities: • All Team Leader responsibilities • Liaise with Deputy Manager to complete and manage the rota • Area of responsibility/(PBS) • Optional L5 training • Promote the involvement of CCATS within the home • Share knowledge of Model of care with other staff • Complete all directed training programmes within the STL induction • Safeguarding L5/Leadership • Complete Supervisions • Complete Inductions • Completion of Training Matrix • Interviewing / Safe Recruitment • Awareness of Holiday Requests Process / additional hours • Understanding of referrals process and actively participating in the discussions / decisions. • Understanding of the appraisal process & actively participating in the delivery of these. • Completing PDP’s. • Active involvement of the On-call process. • Attend managers meetings when requested • Deliver group discussions within the home’s meeting • Promote the implementation of PBS • Attend the local area providers meetings • Addressing staffing issues via supervisions • Completing sickness documents • Oversee the performance monitoring tool • To Maintain professional boundaries at all times with all staff, visitors and families • To bring to the attention of a senior colleague any matter for concern over the well-being, safety or safeguarding of a young person we support. • To ensure that all staff undertake all required training • CPD as agreed through appraisal or supervision sessions • Ensure that all staff register and embark on their level 3 Diploma (where required) in a timely way from the point of commencing employment or create and work to an action plan for those not completing this in a timely way • To act promptly, fairly and clearly on any issue involving poor practice from a staff member, ensuring this is clearly documented, with agreed actions, and that this is reviewed by you and as necessary you consult with HR • To act professionally and work co-operatively as a member of a staff team, and contribute to a culture of open communication, to include constructive feedback for self and colleagues. • Progress to L2 with 12 months experience • Able to fully deputise in Deputy Managers absence. Person Specification Skills Essential Desirable Evidence of working with young people in a residential setting. X Leadership and motivation skills. X Knowledge Essential Desirable National Minimum Standards Residential Children’s Homes. X Understanding of the principals of teamwork. X Protection of Children Act 1999. X Other Requirements Essential Desirable Ability to work on a rota system including sleep-ins, days, evening and weekend working. X Demonstrable commitment to valuing diversity. X Be flexible when needed to provide cover to other homes X Education, Training & Qualifications Essential Desirable Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent. X NVQ 3 Children and Young People or equivalent (Candidates studying NVQ3 will be considered). X NVQ 4 Care / NVQ 4 Management or equivalent.
