Maintain the depreciable assets register, ensuring correct calculation and posting of depreciation and capital investment tracking for tax and accounting purposes.
Prepare and book monthly accruals and provisions related to tax liabilities, deferred taxes, and warranty reserves.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings with full tax compliance and reconciliations completed.
Give support to the Chief Accountant in preparing the financial statements and tax disclosures in accordance with local requirement and group reporting standards.
Advisory & Tax Planning
Advise management and operational teams on tax implications of new transactions, contracts, and cross-border operations, including VAT and transfer pricing considerations.
Support tax optimization and planning initiatives while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
Review and advise on intercompany transactions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with transfer pricing policies.
Participate in internal and external audits, providing supporting documentation and technical explanations of tax positions.
Monitor changes in tax legislation in Romania and other operating countries, assessing their impact on business operations.
Expansion & Process Development
Support new market entries and company expansions, including tax registration, compliance setup (VAT, CIT, payroll), and coordination with local tax advisors.
Contribute to automation and process improvement projects in SAP and other systems to ensure accurate tax configuration, reporting, and control.
Collaborate with IT and finance teams on testing new financial products or ERP functionalities, ensuring tax rules are properly implemented.
Reporting & Internal Controls
Prepare and submit statistical and fiscal reports to regulatory authorities (e.g., National Institute of Statistics in Romania) as required by law.
Maintain accurate tax documentation and audit trails for all transactions and filings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Legal departments to ensure alignment between operational processes and tax/accounting requirements.
