What is JetZero ?   Today’s aircraft contribute around 4% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.   JetZero is developing a b lended - wing body (BWB) aircraft . It uses up to 50% less fuel and will be built to accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. That future will only be possible if we share our vision and what it means to people’s lives: carbon-free flight that ' i s better for both passengers and airlines around the world .   We are seeking a Senior Systems Safety Engineer to lead and execute aircraft-level and system-level safety activities. This role requires deep expertise in 14 CFR Part 25 development programs and hands-on experience applying ARP4761 and related safety processes across complex aircraft systems. What You'll Do: Lead Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA), and System Safety Assessments (SSA) Develop and manage safety requirements derived from aircraft and system-level hazards Perform Common Cause Analyses including Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA), Particular Risk Analysis (PRA), and Common Cause Analysis (CCA) Collaborate closely with systems engineering, suppliers, and certification teams Support certification activities with authorities including compliance findings, safety artifacts, and contributions to the Safety Management System (SMS) What You Bring: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field 10-15 years’ experience on Part 25 aircraft development programs Strong working knowledge of ARP4761, ARP4754A, and related guidance Proven experience performing FHA, PSSA, SSA, and CCA across multiple aircraft systems Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced development environment   Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience supporting experimental or first-of-type aircraft programs Familiarity with FAA and EASA certification processes Experience interfacing directly with suppliers and regulators Strong technical writing and presentation skills Compensation:   Our compensation package is a blend of base salary and equity options for eligible employees. The range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000.
