Description
About the Role At ARX Robotics, you will shape the communication backbone of next-generation autonomous robotic systems. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will design and optimize the in-system networks that enable reliable, secure, and high-performance interaction between electronic control units across our robotics platform.   You will work closely with systems, hardware, electrical engineering, and software teams to define robust communication architectures that scale across complex autonomous systems. Your work ensures that every component of the platform communicates seamlessly, safely, and efficiently throughout the full development lifecycle.   What You’ll Build Design and optimize in-system communication networks such as CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet for robust ECU communication    Define and maintain communication architectures, signal mappings, and data flows across robotic and embedded systems    Collaborate with hardware, software, and EE architecture teams to ensure consistent interface design and system integration    Develop and implement secure communication mechanisms, including SecOC and end-to-end protection, in collaboration with cybersecurity stakeholders    Ensure communication systems meet requirements for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency    Validate compliance with relevant standards and engineering best practices, including AUTOSAR and ISO 26262 where applicable    Support system integration and testing teams in diagnosing and resolving complex communication issues    Contribute to system-level architecture decisions and continuous improvement of communication strategies across the platform    Enable robust data exchange between distributed robotic subsystems operating in real-world environments    Help shape the communication foundation of autonomous systems deployed in demanding operational scenarios    What You Bring Master's degree in systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field    8–10+ years of experience in network, communication, embedded, or systems engineering roles    Strong expertise in automotive or robotics communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Ethernet    Experience with AUTOSAR Classic or Adaptive is highly desirable    Solid understanding of system architecture, requirements engineering, and interface management    Familiarity with development processes such as V-model and ASPICE    Experience working with safety-critical standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 is a plus    Hands-on experience with debugging and analysis tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, or Wireshark    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to system-level detail    Proven ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary and international engineering teams    Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further. What We Offer Join a mission-driven European defense tech company at a pivotal stage of growth, where you can help shape meaningful technology, take ownership early, and grow with the business!   Competitive compensation package including a bonus opportunity   27 vacation days to start, increasing with tenure up to 30 days   Employer-supported pension contribution   Learning & development support and team events budget   Employee discounts and flexible benefits budget via Proboni
