Braze’s product is the control center for thousands of the world’s most sophisticated marketing teams. The BrazeAI Operator is a chat assistant embedded in the frontend of the product, and it uses agentic AI to help marketers do their work more efficiently.
The team owns the agentic runtime that powers Operator, including tool orchestration, prompt engineering, streaming transport, integrations with LLM providers, integrations with Braze features, and integrations with third-party vendors.
As a Senior Engineer on the BrazeAI Operator team, you will build AI-powered product experiences that are reliable, useful, and deeply integrated into the Braze product. You will lead important technical projects, design systems that make agentic behavior safe and observable, and help define what excellent AI assistance looks like for sophisticated marketing teams.
In this role you will:
Design and build AI-powered product experiences using TypeScript, React, and LLM provider APIs
Develop the agentic tool runtime that lets BrazeAI Operator take actions inside the product on behalf of users
Build integrations between Operator and core Braze product surfaces, third-party vendors, and AI model providers
Improve the reliability, observability, and safety of LLM-backed systems, including streaming responses, error handling, evaluation, and rollout controls
Lead projects from ambiguous product or technical goals through implementation, launch, and iteration
Collaborate with other engineers through technical design, code review, and clear engineering practices
Recent and ongoing work on the team includes:
Building the agentic tool runtime for Operator
Designing a streaming architecture for real-time AI responses and product notifications
Integrating with LLM providers such as Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, and AWS Bedrock
Integrating Operator with Braze product workflows and third-party systems
Building AI-assisted authoring, search, validation, and support experiences inside the product
Parts of our stack with which you will work:
TypeScript, React
Ruby on Rails
LLM provider APIs: Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock
Real-time transports: web sockets, server-sent events
Cypress, Jest, RSpec
