Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and culturally aware Senior Signage and Wayfinding Designer to join our Cairo studio, supporting the delivery of high-profile projects across the Middle East. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong design sensibilities, capable of leading wayfinding systems from concept to implementation while collaborating remotely with regional teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and development of signage and wayfinding systems for large-scale urban, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use projects in the Middle East.
• Create bilingual (Arabic/English) wayfinding strategies that reflect regional cultural norms and enhance user experience.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geographies, including architects, landscape designers, branding consultants, and client representatives.
• Prepare comprehensive design documentation including sign location plans, message schedules, sign family designs, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with Middle East-based teams during site audits, stakeholder presentations, and installation phases.
• Ensure compliance with regional accessibility standards, local regulations, and cultural sensitivities.
• Stay informed on material innovations, fabrication techniques, and sustainability practices relevant to signage in the Middle East.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in graphic design, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, architecture or any related field.
• +6 years of experience in signage and wayfinding design, with a strong portfolio in signage and wayfinding design of international or Middle East projects.
• Familiarity with Arabic typography, cultural symbolism, and regional design codes.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and wayfinding-specific tools (e.g., Sign Agent, Figma).
• Strong communication skills with experience in remote collaboration and client engagement.
• Present design proposals to clients, incorporating their feedback and implementing necessary revisions.
• Supervise the production and installation of signage to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
Preferred Attributes:
• Experience working on Miga projects or with Middle East government entities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior designers.
• Multilingual capabilities (English is a plus).
