A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Coordinator to support a major project in Toronto. This role offers the opportunity to provide hands-on field safety leadership while working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders. The Role As the Senior Safety Coordinator, you will support the preparation, deployment, and execution of the project health and safety program in the field. You will work closely with construction leadership and subcontractors to maintain compliance, strengthen site safety performance, support onboarding and training activities, and help drive consistent implementation of project safety procedures. Key Responsibilities • Provide proactive hands-on field support in the preparation, deployment, and application of health and safety procedures and tools. • Conduct and oversee site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and field audits. • Evaluate the safety performance of subcontractors, suppliers, and construction teams. • Manage onboarding and training sessions for new workers and subcontractors. • Prepare and update health and safety documentation, including procedures, forms, checklists, and induction materials. • Assist with incident reporting, corrective action follow-up, and emergency preparedness activities. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related discipline. • 5+ years of health and safety experience in the field on large scale construction projects. • Practical knowledge of current health and safety legislation. • Strong leadership, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. • High attention to detail with a proactive approach to health and safety performance.
