Description
This is a full-time, permanent role and will report to the APAC Editor, Lloyd’s List. Role Profile • Develop Lloyd’s List’s maritime coverage in India and South Asia • Help set the agenda of Lloyd’s List’s coverage through daily insight, features and analysis. • Create high quality, primarily data-led analysis and other content to the high standards of Lloyd’s List’s editorial guidelines. • This role is based on a balanced working model between home and our office in Chennai Key Responsibilities • Create original content for Lloyd’s List channels, with a focus on the maritime sector in India and South Asia • Use Lloyd’s List intelligence data, analytics and visualisation tools (like Tableau or Power BI) to draw insights and communicate findings, where relevant • Proofread the work of colleagues and ensure legal and ethical compliance in content, when necessary, to ensure Lloyd’s List’s high journalistic and stylistic standards are maintained • Work collaboratively with Lloyd’s List colleagues and other departments to ensure the commercial success of Lloyd’s List Intelligence • Support events on the editorial calendar, when required • Attend local and/or international news conferences, industry events, webinars, conference calls, when required. • Develop and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders What we are looking for: Essential • A minimum of three years’ experience in senior level reporting • Interest in the shipping industry and how today’s geopolitical landscape is reshaping global trade. • Strong analytical skills: Collecting, validating, managing, and analysing data from various prima-ry and secondary sources • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks daily and meet tight deadlines • Proficiency with Content Management Systems • High proficiency in written and verbal English • Strong knowledge of media law • Proficiency in MS office suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel Desirable • An existing, broad network of industry contacts.
