Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience working on civils packages on major infrastructure? Do you have experience working on NEC option B contracts? This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major contractor delivering critical works on HS2. We're looking for a proven SQS who can hit the ground running, taking responsibility for key assets from day one on a long-term project. Joining an established commercial team, you'll become one of two Senior Quantity Surveyors, supporting two Quantity Surveyors while taking ownership of a diverse portfolio of civils works. Location: Chipping Warden - up to 2x days remote Duration: 6 month rolling contract - up to 2.5 years of work Requirements: ·Previous experience working as a Senior QS on major projects ·Previous experience working to NEC contracts, ideally option B ·Experience working for a tier 1 contractor ·Experience using CEMAR or Causeway - preferred ·Previous HS2 experience - preferred ·BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent As a Senior Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include: ·Taking full commercial ownership of civils assets from commencement through to final account. ·Preparing, managing and agreeing variations under both the main contract and subcontract agreements. ·Preparing and agreeing interim valuations, final valuations, final accounts and subcontract final accounts. ·Monitoring project costs against budgets, forecasts and commercial targets. ·Tracking contract progress against accepted programmes and work plans alongside operational teams. ·Providing commercial input into change control, including extensions of time (EOT), delays and performance adjustments. ·Managing labour, plant, materials and subcontractor costs across your allocated packages. ·Providing contractual advice to project management teams, ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations, including the timely issue of notices. ·Identifying commercial risks and implementing strategies to effectively manage and mitigate them. ·Negotiating and resolving commercial issues and disputes. ·Supporting and developing the two existing Quantity Surveyors within the team.
