Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Leixlip, Co. Kildare (Projects Throughout Leinster)
Company Type: Main Contractor
Salary: €75,000 – €100,000 DOE

Overview
BSS is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a well-established building contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects throughout Leinster.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing business and take ownership of the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager and Company Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the commercial success of a diverse portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage all commercial aspects of construction projects from tender stage through to final account.
• Prepare and review cost plans, budgets, estimates, and Bills of Quantities.
• Undertake pre-contract cost planning, procurement, and commercial evaluations.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments, and final accounts.
• Prepare monthly valuations, cost reports, and commercial forecasts.
• Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Attend client, contractor, and design team meetings as required.
• Prepare and negotiate variations and change orders.
• Manage interim applications, payment recommendations, and final account agreements.
• Support Project Managers and site teams in achieving project commercial objectives.
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget and maximise commercial performance.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the commercial function.
Requirements
• Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor or equivalent construction-related qualification.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a Quantity Surveying role with a main contractor, developer, or PQS practice.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management processes.
• Proven experience managing project costs from inception through to final account.
• Strong negotiation, reporting, and analytical skills.
• Commercially focused with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full clean driving licence.
