About the Role We are working with a leading civil engineering contractor seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of major infrastructure schemes. This is a predominantly site-based role, requiring a hands-on leader who enjoys being close to project delivery, driving performance on site and supporting teams to achieve outstanding results. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the safe, commercial and operational delivery of one or multiple projects. This role requires an experienced leader who can manage multidisciplinary teams, maintain strong client relationships and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. Key Responsibilities ·Lead the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion. ·Manage project teams, providing leadership, mentoring and performance management. ·Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with all relevant legislation and industry standards. ·Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes and monitor progress against key milestones. ·Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost control and commercial performance alongside the commercial team. ·Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle. ·Coordinate internal teams, designers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery. ·Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders. ·Chair project meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior management. ·Ensure quality standards are achieved throughout all stages of delivery. ·Oversee change management, programme updates and project reporting. ·Promote continuous improvement and best practice across project teams. ·Ensure all project documentation, records and handover information are completed accurately and on time. ·Support tender and pre-construction activities where required. What We're Looking For The successful candidate will demonstrate: ·Extensive experience delivering major civil engineering or infrastructure projects. ·Proven experience leading large project teams within a principal contractor environment. ·Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and programme delivery. ·Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts. ·Thorough understanding of CDM Regulations and current Health & Safety legislation. ·Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills. ·Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. ·Ability to identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. ·Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills. ·Full UK driving licence. Desirable ·Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. ·Chartered or working towards Chartered status (ICE, CIOB or equivalent). ·SMSTS. ·Temporary Works awareness. ·First Aid at Work.
