Description
• Contract position | Rotterdam | Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days home
• For a major offshore energy project, we are looking for a Project Ex Lead with experience in explosion protection and hazardous-area compliance.
• The position is available at Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer level.
• Coordinate all Ex compliance activities throughout engineering, procurement, construction and quality.
• Act as the central Ex contact for engineering disciplines, suppliers, subcontractors, construction yards and project management.
• Develop and maintain the Project Ex Assurance Plan and Project Ex Specification.
• Prepare and maintain the Project Ex Matrix together with the Project Ex Data Coordinator.
• Track Ex equipment certification, supplier documentation, inspections and outstanding compliance actions.
• Issue monthly Ex dashboards and progress reports.
• Ensure Ex requirements are included in equipment specifications, purchase orders, subcontractor scopes and yard contracts.
• Support supplier and contractor bid evaluations from an Ex compliance perspective.
• Review supplier documentation and inspection reports and follow up on deficiencies.
• Coordinate with Procurement Managers, Construction Quality Managers and the Site Ex Lead.
• Ensure Ex requirements are correctly implemented during equipment selection, manufacturing, installation and construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, E&I or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience with Ex compliance, ATEX, IECEx or hazardous-area installations.
• Background within offshore, FPSO, oil and gas, petrochemical or another hazardous industrial environment.
• Experience across engineering, procurement and construction project phases.
• Able to review Ex specifications, certificates, equipment documentation and inspection reports.
• Experience coordinating suppliers, subcontractors, construction yards and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Knowledge of IEC 60079, hazardous-area classification, Ex protection concepts and Ex equipment registers is highly relevant.
• CompEx or comparable Ex certification is an advantage.
• Strong coordination, reporting and stakeholder-management skills.
• Good command of English.
• Contractor (PAYE) position based in Rotterdam.
• Full-time, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
