Senior Product Manager I, Events Platform
HubSpot's Events Platform is the behavioral data backbone of the product–it’s the infrastructure that captures, stores, and surfaces what contacts, companies, and customers actually do across every HubSpot-connected surface. Every workflow trigger, segment, report, and AI-powered insight that depends on behavioral data runs on top of the Events platform.
As the PM for Events Platform, you'll operate across both platform and feature work. Some of your roadmap is foundational infrastructure that internal teams and app partners build on. Some of it is the direct customer experience of creating, managing, and understanding event data inside HubSpot. Both matter, and the ability to context-switch and sequence them correctly is core to the role.
In this role you’ll get to:
Create a shared vision and cohesive roadmap for the future of this product area as a critical member of the Product Triad - our system for building product collaboratively and strategically
Drive alignment, set goals, build understanding and motivate others, including cross-functional partners across the company
Guide new product ideas from initial concept all the way through launch
Understand our customers and their journey through the product by engaging with them directly and often
Use data to identify opportunities to improve our customers’ experience, devise strategy to execute your ideas, and partner with business stakeholders across HubSpot to make solutions that help our customers grow
Own both the developer-facing schema and ingestion experience and the end-user-facing event management surfaces, and develop strong intuition for where those audiences diverge and where they converge
Define how behavioral event data gets structured, queried, and surfaced across HubSpot's product, including in AI-powered features, automation, reporting, and the CRM
Shape the data collection primitives that non-technical customers rely on to understand what their users are actually doing, without needing engineering support for every new event type
We are looking for people who have:
Experience launching products successfully to customers
A multidisciplinary approach to thinking, combining market, business and technical insights to identify opportunities and weigh tradeoffs
The ability to articulate product vision to a variety of audiences
A deep respect for the expertise and insights of their collaborators, including engineering, design, UX research, analytics, and others
A drive to understand customer needs deeply and truly solving for their problems
Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal problem-solving skills
A passion for growing healthy teams and leaders, cultivating psychological safety, and facilitating tough conversations that help people grow
A desire to understand how HubSpot products work
The ability to make decisions, test assumptions, and iterate - often without perfect information
Demonstrated ability to adapt in an innovative and fast-paced environment
An understanding of the competitive software space
Experience with behavioral data products, including event schemas, data pipelines, developer instrumentation, or analytics infrastructure, and a strong intuition for what makes these products trustworthy and sticky
Familiarity with the challenges of building for both technical and non-technical users on the same platform: developers who care about schema fidelity and API ergonomics, and marketers who just need to know what their customers clicked
Comfort navigating a large internal stakeholder surface
As a member of the Product Management org at HubSpot you’ll:
Join a product-led culture that truly puts the customer first
Create and advance an ambitious product strategy that’s driven by customer needs, business goals, powerful data, and global market indicators
