Description
We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer to help us evolve our network landscape from a strong Virtual Private Cloud foundation towards combined private and public cloud environments, with a clear roadmap towards future hybrid solutions. In this role, you will design, implement, and operate network infrastructures that support our growing SaaS platforms, both on-premise and in Microsoft Azure. Key About Your Team As a Senior Network Engineer, you will join our Core-IT team of 22 professionals; currently responsible for a robust Virtual Private Cloud platform whilst actively expanding into Azure public cloud. The team operates across The Netherlands and India. Your primary base would be in Utrecht, working closely with 17 colleagues specializing in Networking, Virtualization, Backup, Security, Monitoring, and related disciplines. Key About Your Role You will support an IT infrastructure serving approximately 35 major clients in the pension and insurance sectors; impacting millions of users across Western Europe. Our platform consists of Dell and Cisco hardware, a fully virtualized VMware environment, and an emerging Azure landscape. You will play a key role in building and shaping our Azure network foundations and preparing the organization for future hybrid connectivity. You will work at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and operations, contributing directly to the strategic evolution of our platform. Alongside this, the daily maintenance and operations of our existing Virtual Private Cloud. You will work with Cisco (ASA, ISR, Nexus, ACI), Nvidia (Mellanox), VMware, NSX, and Microsoft Azure networking services. Key About Your Responsibilities Transitioning from VMware NSX to Cisco ACI Designing and implementing Azure network architectures (VNets, routing, security) Laying the groundwork for future private–public cloud connectivity (VPN / ExpressRoute) Selecting and positioning new network components (switches, firewalls) Decommissioning legacy environments Designing and improving a secure and hardened network architecture across private and public domains Requirements You are an experienced Network Engineer with expertise in datacenter and cloud networking Security is a core part of your approach to network design and operations. You have strong, hands-on experience with: OSPF, BGP, HSRP, vPC, IPsec VPN, SNAT/DNAT, and PBR. You have experience designing and implementing Azure networking solutions (VNet design, routing, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway and/or ExpressRoute). You have a technical degree or equivalent experience You take ownership, work proactively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment We consider it a plus if you have: Knowledge of Linux (RHEL) / Windows Server Cisco / Microsoft Azure certifications *A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and reference check are part of the application process. *Each employee within Keylane must follow training on information security and irrespective to the role basic information security responsibilities apply Benefits A monthly gross salary between € 4400 and € 5800 based on 40 hours per week; 8% holiday allowance of your total gross salary; A profit share; A pension scheme, with the option to save extra; Travel reimbursement: Receive a mileage allowance of €0.23 per km or an NS Business Card, which can also be used for personal tra
