Role summary: As Senior Manager Scientific Engagement, you will lead initiatives that use scientific evidence to support appropriate regulation and increase understanding of tobacco harm reduction and smoke-free products. You will build trusted relationships with key opinion leaders, shape clear and compelling scientific narratives, and engage regulators, the scientific community, and wider society through forums, conferences, publications, and other channels. You will also act as the local focal point for pre- and post-marketing scientific matters. This role can be based in either Stockholm, Copenhagen or Olso. Key responsibilities: Develop and drive the Nordic Scientific Engagement Strategy to support appropriate regulation and understanding of tobacco harm reduction. Develop the scientific communication strategy and localized narrative based on recent scientific developments and current and emerging external and internal needs. Build and maintain a network of international and local key opinion leaders to foster advocacy and support for tobacco harm reduction. Provide guidance, coaching, and training on the science of smoke-free products across the organization. Drive function-level projects and initiatives focused on developing and implementing new processes or standards both within and outside the function. Navigate complex tobacco and nicotine regulatory issues through rigorous analysis and cross-functional collaboration. Refine and improve existing scientific engagement processes through innovative problem-solving and conceptualizing new approaches to operational challenges. Drive the implementation of AI-tools in Scientific Engagement. Ensure compliance with relevant national legalization and global policies regarding scientific activities around tobacco and nicotine. Who you are: Academic background in life sciences, public health, pharmacy, medicine, toxicology, regulatory science, or a related field 5+ years of experience in a scientific, medical, regulatory, public affairs, or external engagement role. Experience working in a highly regulated industry, such as tobacco/nicotine, pharmaceuticals, medtech, healthcare, food, or chemicals. Proven ability to translate complex scientific evidence into clear, engaging messages for different audiences. Experience engaging with external partners, such as regulators, scientific experts, public health stakeholders or industry bodies. Experience working in a cross-functional and international/matrix environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one Scandinavian language. Agile and confident to work in areas with uncertainty and a rapidly moving external environment. Willing to travel across the Nordics and to international events. High confidence in representing a company, which could initially be perceived as controversial, in external forums, meetings, conferences, or public-facing discussions.
