Description
CobbFendley is currently seeking a highly confidential and enthusiastic individual to work in a complex, competitive, and challenging environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for knowing and understanding all of CobbFendley’s HR practices. In addition, this individual will contribute to the innovation and standardization of best practices. This position will be in our Houston, Texas office and will work cross-functionally among various levels of staff, as well as with various locations across the firm.
• Be involved in, and at times take a leading role, in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to meet the Company’s expectations.
• Participate in activities to develop knowledge of work environment, including culture, business objectives, goals, operations, work challenges, and career opportunities within various departments.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Bridges management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
• Oversight of the recruitment process, including active and passive recruitment, databases (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.) pre-employment processing, and onboarding.
• Monitors job descriptions for mental and physical qualifications.
Analyzes paygrades and best practices.
Supports with benefit processing including open enrollment, invoicing, and reporting.
• Understands and processes all eligible leave including FMLA and return to work processes.
• Assists with workers compensations including filing and tracking.
• Assists with annual federal reporting including EEO-1 and VETS-4212.
• Contributes to and prepares annual manager training.
• Assists with manual updates including employee and supervisor handbooks.
• Helps with processing of pay increases, offer letters, performance reviews (formal and informal), terminations, verbal employment verifications.
• Establishes and maintains confidential personnel files, personnel actions, and data entry.
• Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; processes mail and performs other clerical functions.
• Performs customer service functions by answering employee or future employees’ requests and questions including and not limited to policies, new hire process, benefits, and other pertinent information.
Minimum of 5 years work experience as an HR Generalist, Manager, or relevant role
Experience with HR software (ADP and Deltek Vision knowledge preferred)

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
