SYLO | Beyond HR is looking for a Senior HR Consultant to join our growing consultancy team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond traditional HR and work as a genuine strategic partner to a diverse portfolio of clients. Established in 2010, SYLO is a team of 20+ professionals supporting SMEs, national and international organisations across a wide range of sectors. About the role As a Senior HR Consultant, you’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, providing a combination of strategic and hands-on HR support. You’ll work directly with business owners, senior leaders and managers, helping them navigate everything from day-to-day people issues to complex organisational change. Your work will include: Providing expert HR advice across the full employee lifecycle. Managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters. Advising on redundancy, restructure and TUPE processes. Supporting absence management, family-friendly rights and flexible working. Conducting HR audits and reviewing policies, processes and compliance. Helping clients develop practical people strategies aligned to their business goals. Supporting recruitment, onboarding, probation and performance processes. Designing and delivering HR and people-focused training. Advising on reward, pay and benefits. Supporting clients with employment law updates and implementation. Delivering a range of HR projects, from policy development to organisational change. Acting as a trusted sounding board for business owners and leadership teams. You’ll also contribute to the growth of our client relationships by identifying opportunities to add value, supporting business development and representing SYLO within the local business community. What we're looking for We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who is confident, commercially aware and genuinely enjoys working with people and businesses. You’ll ideally have: Strong generalist HR experience, ideally within consultancy, professional services or a multi-client environment. Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice. Strong experience managing complex employee relations cases. Experience with TUPE, redundancy and organisational change. Excellent communication, coaching and relationship-building skills. Confidence working with business owners, senior leaders and managers. The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a wider team. Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time management skills. A practical, solutions-focused and commercially minded approach. Experience delivering HR training or supporting leadership development. Strong attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality. Experience using Microsoft 365, HR systems and CRM platforms. The flexibility to travel to client sites across Oxfordshire and the surrounding area. CIPD qualification or equivalent experience is desirable. What makes SYLO different?
