Description
Koala is a global furniture brand bringing Australian design and innovation to the world. We create forward-thinking products that solve problems for people and homes everywhere, driven by our purpose to make the world a more comfortable place. We’ve always believed in doing things differently, whether in the way we develop products, how we do people and culture, or the way we bring the brand to life. That mindset has fuelled our growth, helping us disrupt categories in ways that are creative, bold and often unexpected. While we’re a household name in Australia, our journey on the global stage is only just beginning. Since launching in 2015, our furniture has reached homes across Australia, Japan, the US and the UK. As a B Corp-certified, customer-obsessed, and data-led company, we’re committed to revolutionising furniture for generations to come through design, innovation, and meaningful sustainability. Role Description As Senior Graphic Designer, AU at Koala, you’ll play a key role in bringing our brand to life across every touchpoint. Working closely with the Creative Lead, you’ll translate our brand strategy and campaign concepts into high-quality creative that builds brand love and drives commercial performance. You’ll own projects from concept through execution, contributing creative thinking at the briefing stage and delivering exceptional design across paid media, organic social, CRM, ecommerce, VM and other brand touchpoints. You'll help maintain and evolve Koala's visual identity, ensuring every piece of creative feels unmistakably Koala while continually raising the standard of design across the business. Beyond creating beautiful work, you'll collaborate closely with Brand, Performance, eCommerce and the wider Marketing team, using customer insights and campaign performance to inform stronger creative. You'll champion quality, contribute to a culture of creative excellence, and continuously look for better ways of working as Koala continues to grow. Key Responsibilities Lead design projects from concept through to final delivery across paid media, organic social, CRM (campaigns and flows), website, retail and other brand touchpoints. Contribute creative ideas, visual concepts and design approaches during campaign development not just execution. Translate brand strategy into compelling creative that delivers against brand and commercial objectives. Maintain an exceptionally high standard of craft across typography, layout, imagery, motion and visual storytelling. Ensure every asset reflects Koala's visual identity and consistently applies our brand guidelines across all channels. Help evolve the AU creative team by identifying opportunities to improve templates, systems, documentation and creative consistency as the brand grows. Collaborate closely with Brand, Performance Marketing, eCommerce, CRM, Social and Production teams to create creative that performs. Use campaign results, testing insights and customer behaviour to continually improve future creative. Provide constructive creative feedback during reviews and actively contribute to raising the quality of work across the team. Support art direction for photography, video and content shoots through moodboards, references, layouts and visual direction where required. Prepare production-ready assets across digital and print, ensuring work meets all platform and technical specifications. Keep the creative asset library organised, accessible and up to date for wider team use. Identify creative risks, production challenges or opportunities early, proactively communicating with the Creative Lead. Explore new creative trends, tools, AI workflows and technologies that improve both creative quality and team efficiency. Champion a collaborative, positive and solutions-focused creative culture.
