Description
Gigantic Playground, a CourtAvenue company, is a creative technology agency building immersive interactive experiences for theme parks and consumer brands. This Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer role involves designing and delivering production-grade systems end-to-end—from frontend and backend through infrastructure and deployment—while mentoring teammates and driving technical innovation across architecture, cloud infrastructure, and observability.
What You'll Do
• Design, build, and ship production-grade systems end-to-end (frontend, backend, infrastructure, deployment) on time and at high quality
• Own technical decisions on architecture, cloud topology, observability, deployment, and security for projects you lead
• Debug complex production incidents, performance regressions, and distributed systems issues; document findings to strengthen team knowledge
• Build prototypes and proofs of concept to validate ideas and de-risk technical decisions before full commitment
• Mentor teammates, conduct code reviews, and contribute to refining team processes and engineering practices
What You Need
• 5+ years of industry experience in full-stack development (REST APIs, backend, database modeling, CI/CD, Web UX/UI, HTML/CSS, mobile responsive)
• Proficiency in Linux/macOS command-line tools and Bash shell scripting at power-user level
• Strong Node.js with TypeScript experience, including deep async/await fluency
• Demonstrated expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience with Docker, automated testing frameworks (Chai, Mocha), database design (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and distributed systems architecture
• GitHub portfolio required—must demonstrate skills through open-source repositories
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems management, or equivalent field experience
Nice to Have
• 7+ years of industry experience
• Multi-lingual fluency (English, Spanish, Japanese); Japanese fluency is a significant advantage
• Kubernetes, ClickUp, or broader database experience beyond PostgreSQL/MongoDB
• Mobile development with Flutter, React Native, Swift, or Kotlin
• Experience with MQTT, message buses, Redis caching, load testing (k6), or advanced DevOps at scale
• Background in test-driven design or CMS integration (Contentstack)
• Orlando-based location or willingness to relocate
