Pay Range: Targeted salary of $15.00/hour, based on education and experience Benefits Eligible: Yes Work Schedule: Schedule Varies based on position offered but will include working home football game days, position is essential/may be required to work during campus closures. Schedule may change during scaled service. Travel: Not required Position Introduction: OU Food Services/Panera at the Oklahoma Memorial Union is seeking a reliable and experienced Senior Food Service Worker / Assistant Supervisor to support evening operations in a fast-paced dining environment. This position operates under general supervision and is responsible for a wide range of food service duties, including food preparation, production, cash handling, and customer service, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and sanitation. Serving as a key support role to supervisory staff, this position helps coordinate daily workflow, guides team members, and ensures operational standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, leadership capability, and a commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience. Under general supervision, responsible for a wide range of tasks associated with the preparation, production, cash handling, and/or serving of food items, with an emphasis on quality, safety, sanitation, and customer service. • Prepares food according to recipes. Ensures optimal quality of food from preparation to serving. • Performs cash handling, including running a register. • Orders food products based on food consumption and inventory records. • Oversees and maintains inventory records for all items. • Determines work priorities and assigns work to Food Service Workers and student employees. • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position. • As essential personnel you may be required to work during University closings. • Nights and weekends may apply for any operations especially those operating 24/7. • Hepatitis A vaccine required. Normally, employees on a 5 hour shift receive a free meal. Uniforms are provided at no cost, but must be maintained by the employee. View full job description Required Education and Experience: • High school diploma or GED or graduate of culinary school. • 12 months of restaurant/customer service experience.
